How to improve your analysis of challenging compounds

Are you plagued with poor peak shapes, low sensitivities, sample carry over and/or low recoveries for challenging compounds.

Several substances are able to interact with the usual inert column hardware materials such as stainless steel or titanium. The adsorption on metallic surfaces typically leads to peak tailing, loss of recovery and sample carry over. Critical substances are especially metal-coordinating compounds, such as fumonisins, sphingophospholipids or organophosphates in general.

YMC offers a special hardware as an option for the YMC-Triart (U)HPLC column family. The so-called metal-free YMC-Triart columns are fully inert columns due to their PEEK lined stainless steel column body and the use of PEEK frits. By using YMC-Triart metal-free columns, superior peak shapes and sensitivities can be expected making them also the perfect choice for highly sensitive analyses using LC/MS.

For further information about the inert YMC-Triart metal-free columns, check out our flyer which includes additional application examples.
