Diatome's latest range of diamond knives is available from Agar Scientific
Agar Scientific, a leading supplier of microscopy accessories and consumables, is excited to provide the latest products from the world-leading brand of diamond knives, Diatome
Agar Scientific have been serving microscopists with the supply of accessories and consumables for forty years while Diatome has been the leading brand of diamond knives for even longer. As a major distributor, Agar Scientific is pleased to continue its long association with Diatome offering both new and re-sharpened knives. As well benefiting from attractive pricing on new knives, users may also trade-in old diamond knives from any manufacturer.
There is a Diatome diamond knife for almost every application including new versions of their very popular trimming blades and cryo knives. Agar can provide expert advice on the best knife for your application.
Diatome diamond knives are designed with many important user benefits in mind. The boat is designed for optimal illumination and ease of picking up sections.
The surfaces of the Diatome diamond ultra and histo knives are hydrophilic facilitating easy wetting of the cutting edge, even with a very low water level (important for sectioning Lowicryls and other hydrophilic embedding resins, as well as for water sensitive samples).
Agar offers a re-sharpening service for Diatome knives at competitive rates as well as supplying new and part-exchanging old Diatome knives. Resharpened Diatome knives undergo the same stringent optical checking and sectioning test as new knives producing the same high quality. During resharpening, a knife may be reworked into another type (ultra to cryo and vice versa, 45° to 35°, etc.).
