Autoclaves play a crucial role in laboratory and research facilities by ensuring the sterilization of various materials, including glassware, instruments, and media. Among the many different types of autoclaves available, cylindrical chamber autoclaves offer distinct operational advantages.

Cylindrical autoclaves are one of the most efficient designs available, therefore they can provide amazing potential savings from a reduction in the usage of electricity and water. A cylindrical chamber is better suited to high pressure micro-environments, requires less reinforcement and insulation, it also suffers less wear and tear over the life of the autoclave. Cylindrical autoclaves can handle high temperatures and pressures much more effectively. A reduced metal mass means quicker heat-up times, expediting the entire steam sterilization process.

The internal design of cylindrical autoclaves also prevents densely packed loads near the chamber wall, eliminating cold pockets, ensuring better circulation and complete sterilization without excessive cycle times. Improved steam circulation leads to more efficient sterilizing cycles. When combined with a low loading height and wide door swing of a front-loading autoclave, this allows easier loading of heavy items from trolleys to be processed quickly and efficiently.

Cylindrical autoclaves are also reliable and cost-effective, making them an excellent choice for laboratories seeking optimal sterilization performance. Whether in research facilities, universities, or testing labs, these cylindrical autoclaves enhance lab operations and contribute to scientific excellence.

The excellent performance of a cylindrical autoclave is complimented by Priorclave Tactrol®3, a sterilizing process controller developed by Priorclave themselves. Tactrol®3 enables users to create simple push-button starts for basic cycles, all the way up to complex full feature multi-program sterilizing operations with printed records. With an expanded memory the Tactrol® 3 allows labs to program more custom cycles than ever before, each with their own start delays, temperature and pressure ramps, repeats, dwell times, vacuum stages and set points, media warming/ hold temperatures, etc.

All Priorclave’s autoclaves exterior surfaces are treated with an anti-bacterial coating that is proven to reduce bacterial growth by up to 99.99% and is highly effective against MRSA, E coli, Listeria, Legionella, Campylobacter, Salmonella, etc. Helping to keep surfaces sterile for longer and reduce the risk of cross contamination.
