Latest Developments in Bio-Imaging to be Discussed at Photonex Roadshow Scotland
Event organiser, Xmark Media, continues to reach wider audiences with second regional event this year, the Photonex Scotland Photonics Technologies Roadshow is on the horizon.
The Photonex Roadshow will once again make a visit to Scotland this year on Wednesday 3rd June and this time the brand new Technology and Innovation Centre at the University of Strathclyde will be the venue. Encompassing photonics, imaging and light technologies, this is a key event in the Scotland International Year of Light (IYOL) diary.
The event combines a lively exhibition with a high-level conference and is expected to attract a large number of visitors from across Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England. Scottish groups are again supporting the event; organisations such as SUPA and the Scottish Optoelectronics Association will be encouraging the participation of the whole Scottish photonics community either as exhibitors or visitors.
Professor Rory Duncan, Head of Institute of Biological Chemistry, Biophysics and Bioengineering at Heriot-Watt University returns as chair for the fifth academic conference, “Advances in Photonic Tools and Techniques for the Life Sciences.” Attend this event to broaden your knowledge and hear the latest developments in bio-imaging techniques. The technical committee have commented that this international quality 'invited' programme includes presentations by eminent and leading UK research scientists. Professor Andy Harvey from Glasgow University will be speaking on “Multispectral oximetry,” and Professor David Birch from the University of Strathclyde will be giving a talk on “fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM)”.
Latest photonics techniques and instrumentation.
In parallel with the scientific conference, exhibiting companies will further support the event by giving in-depth tutorials on key subjects. Tutorials will be educational and will feature on theory, advances, techniques, technology comparisons and features to look out for when choosing equipment for your next project.
Subjects to be covered include “Ultra-low noise silicon photomultipliers - applications and recent advances”, “Visible and NIR photon counting solutions”, “Lithium Niobate Modulators” and more.
