Miele laboratory glasswashers win accolades for excellence in design
Miele’s two latest professional laboratory glasswashers have been honoured with design awards.
The iF Design Awards have been hosted every year since 1953 by the International Forum Design – headquartered in Germany but assessing more than 6,000 submissions from 70 countries worldwide.
In 2020 Miele’s SlimLine glass washer range (PLW 6011-6111) and newly introduced large chamber lab washer (PLW 86xx) have been chosen as winning designs by the jury of creative experts.
The PLW 86xx is Miele’s latest laboratory product range, setting new standards in performance, eco credentials and user interface.
Overall, the machine uses up to 27% less water per wash than its predecessor of the same chamber size, with a 29% detergent and neutraliser saving.
The flush-fitted 7” control panel is designed to be intuitive and simple-to-use. Three-colour interior chamber lighting is another new feature which allows the wash status to be seen at a glance from a distance.
Launched in 2019, Miele’s SlimLine range boasts a compact footprint but large load capacity, along with a wealth of features and benefits to help labs in all sectors run efficiently. The machine offers two or three rack levels and ergonomic design for comfortable loading using its customisable accessories.
National Account Manager Medical and Decontamination at Miele, Nadine Bellamy-Thomas said: “Our lab washers are renowned for their performance and reliability and we are delighted that our two latest product releases have been praised and rewarded for their innovative design, packed with features to make our customers’ lab lives easier.”
