New Miele machines offer unbeatable hygiene for laboratories

publication date: Nov 18, 2020
author/source: Miele GB

Miele’s latest range of professional washing machines and dryers set new standards for the hygienic laundering of lab coats and protective clothing.

The Little Giants range comprises the Performance and Performance Plus washing machines and dryers, which offer powerful on site washing for peace of mind regarding infection control.

With the benefits of short wash cycles, a convenient stack footprint of less than 1m² and a range of thoughtful, labour-reducing features, Little Giants are a perfect fit with Miele’s ethos of ‘making your lab life easier’.

The commercial grade machines with wifi connectivity feature Miele’s most eco-friendly professional laundry technology yet, with cycle times of only 49 minutes for washing and 38 minutes for drying. The new heat-pump dryer has outperformed its predecessor by one third, with a cycle time of less than 60 minutes, using 60% less energy than a standard condenser dryer.  Washers feature Miele’s patented honeycomb drum for ultimate fabric care.

Joint executive director and co-proprietor of the Miele Group, Dr Markus Miele, commented: “This is the most important launch for Miele Professional for many years. We are now more future-focused than ever before. The new connectivity of the Little Giant range means that we are ideally positioned to move into an increasingly digital world and adapt quickly to our customers’ changing needs. This new range is part of our continual improvement and we call this ‘immer besser’, meaning ‘forever better’. The new Little Giants are the best range yet on the market, with our focus still being on quality as the core value.”

Due to the speed capacity of washing cycles, the new range washing machines require 22% less water and 28% less energy. While casing dimensions have remained unchanged, washing machines and tumble dryers now have a load capacity increased by 25%. The Performance washing machines have been given an A+++ energy efficiency rating, while the Performance heat-pump dryer has been awarded A++.  Adding to their sustainable credentials, 95% of the machines can be recycled at end of life.

The Little Giants range complements Miele’s specialist laboratory glasswashers and washer-disinfectors, which include underbench, large chamber and slimline models.
