European Lab Automation 2011 to Highlight Advances in the Automation of methods and equipment

Professor Daniel Chiu of Washington UniversitySelect Biosciences, organisers of European Lab Automation (ELA) 2011, are delighted to announce that the Advances in Microarray Technology, Lab-on-a-Chip European Congress and Next Gen Sequencing Europe meetings will be joining the streams of this new, highly topical conference & exhibition, held in Hamburg, Germany, from 30 June - 1 July 2011. With a comprehensive schedule of presentations and workshops, from leading researchers and vendors alike, ELA promises to provide a forum to discuss the automation of high throughput molecular biology techniques using the most up-to-date and innovative technologies.

The Advances in Microarray Technology, Lab-on-a-Chip and Next Gen Sequencing meetings have gone from strength to strength as conferences in their own right. By combining as part of the programme for European Lab Automation 2011, these conference streams will focus on recent advances in protein and DNA array technology, applications and advances in Lab-on-a-Chip diagnosis and detection methodology and gene expression analysis by next generation sequencing.  High profile keynote speakers have been invited to present their research and thoughts on method automation in their areas of expertise, including:

  • Professor Thomas Joos of the University of Tuebingen, Germany and Professor Andrew Cossins from Liverpool University, UK, presenting to delegates of the Advances in Microarray Technology meeting.
  • Professor Wilhelm Ansorge of the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and Professor Vanessa Hayes from JCVI, will give seminars on the use of automated technology and science to attendees of the Next Gen Sequencing Europe conference stream.
  • Professor Daniel Chiu of Washington University, Professor Sabeth Verpoorte from the University of Groningen, Dr Ralph Lindken - Zentrum für BrennstoffzellenTechnik ZBT Duisburg and Professor Andrew deMello from Imperial College London, will address delegates attending the Lab-on-a-Chip congress.

Select Biosciences is inviting delegates from all levels to submit both oral and poster presentations on topical research issues, covering the automation of protein and DNA arrays, new array technology and bioinformatics, applications of Lab-on-a-Chip techniques and advances in gene expression by deep sequencing.

A series of educational workshops and training courses will be offered. These will include:

Select Biosciences offers a broad range of workshop topics, to assist all attending scientists in finding further applications of automation technology in their own specific research areas. Furthermore, delegates will also be able to visit the numerous companies exhibiting at the event to discuss and identify the latest product innovations and specific application needs, with industry experts.
