Peter Ingram and Simon Rainbow join GPE Scientific

GPE Scientific Ltd is a leading distributor and manufacturer of laboratory equipment, glass blowing products and specialised glass components for the industrial, laboratory and research markets. Based in Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, GPE Scientific has over 50 years of experience in the manufacturing of precision glass materials for industry, laboratory and research companies and have recently expanded our Sales Team to meet our customer’s needs.  We are pleased to announce the recruitment of our Northern and Southern Sales Representatives Peter Ingram and Simon Rainbow.

Peter Ingram is our Northern area sales representative; Peter graduated in 2003 from the University of Leeds with a MChem BSc Integrated Master’s Degree; he soon found a job as a Medicinal Chemist at Eli Lilly Ltd focussing on Neuroscience projects. In 2004 he moved to Evotec and advanced in a career as a Discovery Scientist working with pharmaceutical and biotech clients. Progressing to Senior Scientist level, Peter headed a large scale project for Oncology targets focusing on conducting synthetic strategies to progress the project.

Peter decided to use his knowledge and experience to move into a Sale’s based role within GPE Scientific. Peter is looking forward to using his Chemistry background to develop relationships with clients and customers throughout the world.

Simon Rainbow is our Southern area sales representative; Simon graduated from Loughborough University in 2002 with a BSc in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry; his first Chemistry job saw him move to Abingdon in 2004 where he worked at Evotec as a research chemist.  After 2 years at Evotec, Simon moved to Southampton where he undertook his PhD in the field of natural product synthesis under the supervision of Prof David C. Harrowven. 

In 2007, Simon went on to gain valuable experience as a synthetic organic chemist at Target Molecules, working on a variety of custom synthesis projects.  Simon has now decided to move his career away from the laboratory and into a commercial role, where he hopes to use his extensive organic chemistry knowledge to develop strong working relationships with new and existing customers at GPE Scientific.

Peter and Simon are already out in the field promoting the GPE Scientific product range including the Chemglass laboratory equipment, the Norell NMR tubes, Syrris Synthesis Systems and the exclusive J Young Valves and Tubes which are manufactured in our factory.  They are both motivated about the new opportunity and looking forward to meeting new and existing customers across a wide range of scientific disciplines.
