OHAUS-Introduces-Two-New-Centrifuges

Innovative Additions to their Frontier 5000 Series

OHAUS® Corporation, a worldwide leader in the design and manufacturing of weighing products, laboratory equipment and analytical instruments has announced the addition of two new centrifuges to their Frontier™ 5000 series.

Further Expanding the Frontier Centrifuge Portfolio

Nearly two years ago, OHAUS introduced their line of Frontier 5000 – Micro, Multi and Mini centrifuges, specifically designed for simple to rapid liquid separation tasks and ideal for a variety of life science applications. Recognizing the ever-changing needs of professionals in university, research, industrial and clinical laboratories, OHAUS has further expanded their product offerings by adding two new centrifuges to the highly regarded Frontier series. The FC5513, a high-speed, benchtop micro centrifuge - designed for a specific range of lab applications, and the FC5707, a compact, low-speed multi-purpose centrifuge for general laboratory applications.

Both these versatile new centrifuges feature a uniquely designed protective splash-proof front panel and modern "touch-wheel” control on an intuitive interface. Standard features also include ten acceleration and ten deceleration rates, pre-selection of running time from 10s to 99h 59 min or continuous, audible signal at end of each run with melody options and quick spin for short runs. Both units have a compact footprint, which saves valuable lab bench space.

The FC5513 microliter centrifuge can generate 17,317 g of rcf with four optional rotors, making it ideal for essential high-speed lab applications. Engineered for convenient operation, the FC5513 offers standard 24 x 1.5 ml microtube rotors with a biocontainment option. The centrifuge can also support spin columns and hematocrit capillary tubes when used with other rotors options to meet a variety of applications.

The FC5707 is a reliable low-speed general purpose centrifuge which features a pre-installed 8 x 15 ml rotor that can process both round and conical bottom tubes, including common blood tubes, and can be adapted easily with accessories to also process 7 ml, 5 ml and 1.5/2 ml tubes.

Intuitively Designed for Reliable Performance and a User-Friendly Experience

The touch-wheel control on FC5707 and FC5513 enables simple one hand operation – even with gloves on. Large backlit LCD display shows centrifugation settings and real-time parameters on one interface.

Safety Features for Increased Security

These centrifuges are equipped with additional protective features for safety and reliable operation, including active imbalance detection with individual imbalance tolerances set for each rotor to protect operators from accidental injuries, and sealed and bio-containment rotors to safeguard operators from harmful aerosols.
