double-expansion-2019-sepsolve-analytical

Hot on the heels of its new site-opening in Waterloo (Canada), laboratory instrument provider SepSolve Analytical Ltd has relocated its Cambridgeshire headquarters to a new, larger premises.

“Our new Peterborough premises are three times larger than the previous site”, said Bob Green, Director of SepSolve. “Having grown so rapidly over the last two years in particular, we’re very relieved to have the extra space, not just to accommodate our growing staff numbers, but also to enable us to more comfortably host the numerous workshops and training courses which are part-and-parcel of our product and service offering.”

Since its founding in 2016, SepSolve Analytical has forged a position as a leader of separation science, particularly sample preparation, 2D gas chromatography (GCxGC) and time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOF MS). Its instrument packages are used, and its expertise called upon, by labs and scientists across the globe, from blue-chip car and food manufacturers to government environmental agencies. In its lifetime, SepSolve has evolved from a consultancy-led service, assisting chemists with their analytical problems by advising on methodology and providing the necessary instrumentation, to a fully-fledged supplier of complete analytical packages.

For example, the company has recently developed a process and instrument package that utilises the enhanced separation capacity of GC×GC for the routine analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH). This optimized method enables aliphatics and aromatics to be fully separated in a single run, eliminating the need for off?line sample fractionation and multiple analyses.

SepSolve Analytical is one of two brands forming Schauenburg Analytics Ltd, the other being Markes International Ltd. SepSolve provides tailored product and application packages from sampling through to detection, all brought together with powerful software to extract maximum analytical data and deliver high throughput.

Markes manufactures and sells instrumentation for sample preparation and concentration, including thermal desorption, SPME, headspace and high-capacity sorptive extraction. It also supplies a comprehensive range of instruments, sampling accessories and supplies that enhance the analytical capability of GC–MS.

Andy Hardwick, Commercial Director, Schauenburg Analytics Ltd, commented: “Under the umbrella of Schauenburg Analytics, the two companies have a network of technical centres around the world. This helps us serve the needs of our customers, not just by providing equipment, but also by combining both companies’ deep knowledge banks.”

“This has been an exciting year of growth for SepSolve, evidenced by a totally new site opening [in Canada] and now expansion into larger premises for its Peterborough head office. With its new Cambridgeshire site’s easily accessible location and larger offices, SepSolve is looking forward to increasing its UK workshops and networking events.”
