Copley Scientific
In May 2012, Copley
Scientific's distribution partners from around the world gathered at the
company's headquarters in Nottingham, UK, to attend an intensive three-day
training programme on all aspects of inhaler testing. Over the course of the
meeting, participants were able to hone their knowledge and skills, learning
not only about new products, but also the latest regulatory thinking and
requirements.
"Our reputation as global providers of quality pharmaceutical testing equipment is underpinned by high levels of technical knowledge," said Sales Director Mark Copley. "Comprehensive training is fundamental as we continue to expand our network of distributors. We are committed to equipping our sales and support teams everywhere with up-to-the-minute information so that we always provide the best possible service and technical and sales support, and we ensure that it is tailored specifically to local requirements."
Partners from Turkey, India, China and Switzerland toured the Copley Scientific head office prior to an introductory session on the benefits and methodologies of delivered dose uniformity testing and aerodynamic particle sizing by cascade impactor for devices such as metered dose inhalers, dry powder inhalers, nebulisers and nasal sprays. The main focus of the course was how to maintain test equipment in peak condition and use it productively, so mensuration (the technique used to calibrate cascade impactors), troubleshooting and routine maintenance were the core topics into days two and three. Newly introduced items such as the BRS2000 and BRS 3000, breathing simulators designed for improving IVIVCs, were covered alongside established products such as the TPK and TPK2000, critical flow controllers already in widespread use across the globe. The course finished with a brief introduction to Copley's solid dosage range.
Copley Scientific is the world's leading manufacturer and supplier of inhaler testing equipment and a major provider of test equipment for other pharmaceutical dosage forms including: tablets; capsules; powders; suppositories; and transdermals. The company is also active in detergent testing, air sampling and aerosol characterization. Copley Scientific has offices in the UK and in Switzerland and already has a reciprocal partnership in place with aerosol particle science experts MSP Corporation in North America. www.copleyscientific.com
