Tecan Appoints Global Head of Human Resources
The Board of Directors of Tecan Group (SIX Swiss Exchange: TECN) has appointed Markus Schmid as Head of Corporate Human Resources & Internal Communications and a member of the Management Board. He will assume the position at Tecan by September 1, 2011 at the latest. Schmid has been in charge of corporate human resources on an ad interim basis as an external consultant since October 2010.

Markus Schmid trained as a teacher and also studied psychology and journalism at the University of Freiburg, with a focus on occupational and organizational psychology. He has worked as a teacher and instructor at various educational levels and has held various consulting positions. In 1998 he became a partner and operations manager at MANRES AG, a consultancy that focuses on organizational development and transformation. There, he specialized in areas including executive and team coaching and organizational development consulting for prominent companies and public institutions. Markus Schmid is 42 years old and Swiss national.
