New UHPLC Columns and Solvents Offer Users Expanded Application Flexibility
Thermo Scientific Vanquish UHPLC columns and Fisher Chemical Optima UHPLC-MS solvents are designed for advanced performance on the Thermo Scientific Vanquish platform
Researchers working with complex samples can now benefit from new UHPLC columns and solvents that are designed to provide advanced separation power, speed of analysis and throughput.
The new Thermo Scientific Vanquish UHPLC columns and Fisher Chemical Optima UHPLC-MS solvents are specifically designed to complement the high performance Thermo Scientific Vanquish UHPLC systems.
“Researchers are continually being pushed to obtain higher-quality results and separations in less time,” said Kevin Doolan, director, chromatography columns and consumables, Thermo Fisher. “Our new Vanquish UHPLC column portfolio allows our customers to benefit from dedicated consumables that, when used in combination with the Vanquish UHPLC system, enable our customers to achieve their targets.”
The column portfolio, which consists of 16 UHPLC columns, offers a wide range of selectivity and format options for different applications such as rapid screening for drugs of abuse, pesticide analysis, metabolite and peptide analysis. New or advanced hardware and packing methods enable the new UHPLC columns to operate at higher flow rates and pressures than previous Thermo Scientific columns, producing excellent separations and fast results. Columns without these high specifications would not be able to produce the same quality of results or throughput. The new columns are also extremely robust and designed to seamlessly integrate with Vanquish system features such as intelligent sample pre- compression.
The Fisher Chemical Optima UHPLC-MS solvents are high-quality, ultra-pure and designed to address the trace analysis needs of chromatographers performing state-of-the-art UHPLC. These solvents are ideal for detecting trace amounts of analyte by MS/MS using either gradient or direct-flow analysis without baseline interference. They provide a very low mass/noise level in both positive- and negative-mode ionization, minimal metal ion content and a low UHPLC-UV response using photo diode array detection. The Optima UHPLC-MS solvents are qualified for use with UHPLC/MS instrumentation, such as the Thermo Scientific Vanquish system.
The Vanquish UHPLC systems are integrated and fully biocompatible, addressing the needs of chromatographers performing state-of-the-art UHPLC. Built around the columns, the Vanquish UHPLC systems deliver precise separations, thanks to thermostatting options in the column compartment that enable high resolution. The system also delivers speed, a large dynamic range and high sensitivity.
