Kinesis Receives the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce Global Awards for Export Growth
St Neots based Kinesis is celebrating after being named the winner of the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce Global Awards for Export Growth.
The awards were presented at the Global Leaders Lunch on Friday 10th June at Downing College, London. Guest speaker Harriet Fear, UKTI Business Ambassador and Chief Executive of One Nucleus shared her distinguished perspective of the global marketplace in a fascinating keynote address. The Global Awards covered four categories, Excellence in Staff Development, Achievement in New Markets, Overall Growth in Exports and New Exporter of the Year.
Kinesis received the Overall Growth in Exports award in recognition of achieving continuous growth in export sales over the last six years of the business, which is one of the leading suppliers and servicers of chromatography, liquid handling, sample storage and medicinal chemistry consumables and equipment. Overseas sales have grown by over 200% in the last six years with the percentage of sales exported growing from 19% to 56% over the same period. The same period has also seen a great investment in people and technology which has helped to make Kinesis a renowned global brand.
Commenting on the award, Jamie Gallifant Group Managing Director said:
"We are delighted and honoured to have won this prestigious award by the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce. Having recently received the Queen’s Award for International Trade in April, we understand that this success is directly attributable to the efforts of all within the Kinesis Group. We’d particularly like to recognise the long term support of our customers and supply partners. This is an important stage in our company development and we will strive to continue to offer unrivalled service and support to our global customer base."
Kinesis was also named as a winner of The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade on the 21st of April, coinciding with The Queen’s 90th Birthday. Kinesis have been invited to attend HM The Queen’s Reception at Buckingham Palace on July 14th. The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade will be officially presented to Kinesis by HM Lord Lieutenant Sir Hugh Duberly on the August 4th, in the presence of a number of local dignitaries, key suppliers to Kinesis and all Kinesis staff.
Kinesis was established in 1997 and is now based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. After forging more than 90 premier distribution partnerships across the world, Kinesis opted to have a direct presence in the global marketplace. Using a targeted entrepreneurial approach, they founded a US office in 2006 and an Australian office two years later. After this success they went on to acquire a German company in 2008 and have recently taken part ownership of an Italian company.
Along with their distribution expertise, Kinesis also provide breakdown and maintenance servicing on chromatography systems and pipettes. This has allowed Kinesis to offer an increased portfolio of services, further strengthening their customer offering to their clients, who now see Kinesis as the global business which they have become.
The success of Kinesis in recent years has proved to be a benefit to the local community. Currently employing 44 members of staff in the UK and 90 globally, this figure is up from 35 employees just two years ago. The business is also keen to play its part supporting local groups including the nearby Sue Ryder home at Moggerhanger and local youth football team Eynesbury Rovers while also supporting national charities such as Macmillan, Sport Relief and the Make a Wish Foundation.
