New ChromSoc Meeting announced
"Analytical Challenges And Solutions For Difficult Pharmaceutical Molecules"
NOVEMBER 10TH & 11TH 2015 AT GSK WARE HERTS
The Chromatographic Society is an internationally connected organisation and UK registered scientific charity devoted to the promotion and dissemination of knowledge on all aspects of chromatography and related separation techniques.
This Symposium will focus its attention on addressing problems in the following areas: Separation, Detection, Resolution, Quantification, Identification, Limits of Detection, Interferences and Structural Elucidation.
Case histories of difficult analyses and solutions to these issues will be presented and discussed by both in-house GSK analysts and invited external speakers from the pharmaceutical industry. Experiences in problem solving customers’ difficult analyses will be presented by instrument companies who will provide insight into their capabilities and application of their instrumentation and methodologies.
Special Guest Speakers will include:
Max Robinson/Alan Hill GSK
Quantitative Challenges of Charged Aerosol Detection
Dave Elder GSK
Strategic Approaches to Analysing Mutagenic Impurities
Claire Haylock GSK
Analysing Mutagenic Impurities: A case study
Rachel Orr GSK
Challenges inherent in analysing Oligonucleotides
Kris Pearson GSK
Challenges inherent in understanding the degradation pathways of co-blended inhaled products
Chris Welch Merck
Separation of isomeric impurities
Dorina Kotoni Novartis Pharma AG,
Universal detection in the pharmaceutical industry, an evaluation of recent aerosol-based detectors for impurity profiling in analytical R&D in RP-HPLC and HILIC
Mark Taylor Pfizer
Contaminant peaks: sources and solutions for improved performance in gradient LC

This symposium forms part of GSK’s 300th anniversary. The original company (Silvanus Bevan) was founded in 1715 at the Plough Court Pharmacy in the East End of London (see attached picture). After many mergers and takeovers the genesis of the present company occurred with the merger of SmithKline French and Beecham in 1990, and five years later with the merger of the Glaxo Group and the Wellcome Foundation. The present company was founded in 2000 with the merger of SmithKline Beecham and GlaxoWellcome to form GSK.
