Nitrocellulose, nylon and PVDF membrane types are all high binding/low background engineered. Pure nitrocellulose is ideal for single transfers while nylon has a higher binding capacity (approx 350µg-cm²) and binds a greater range of fragment sizes. For multiple probes PVDF has exceptional tensile strength and is ready to use after methanol pre-wetting.
