Yesterday, an opening ceremony took place for the newly formed international analytic competence center of Analytik Jena AG in Moscow
This is a shared project of the German manufacturer of analytical instrumentation, its most important sales partner in Russia, InterLab Inc, and of the Moscow Zelinsky Institute for Organic Chemistry (Russian Academy of Sciences). The opening fits well into the German-Russian year of education, science and innovation 2011/2012, and is an actual proof of the close cooperation between both countries.
The ceremony was attended by high-ranking government representatives - including the prime minister of the Free State of Thuringia, Christine Lieberknecht - scientists and representatives of the Academy of Sciences, as well as the chief executive of Analytik Jena AG, Klaus Berka, and other managers of Analytik Jena and InterLab.
The competency center is located in the main building of the Zelinsky Institute for Organic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. It consists of a research lab as well as a seminar and training area with state-of-the-art analysis technologies of Analytik Jena.
The cooperation between companies and scientists will promote new physical-chemical research as well as device developments in the areas of analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis. For example, practical applications for newly developed processes can be tested directly on the devices. Furthermore, training courses and product presentations for students and chemist, as well as users and anyone interested in the instruments of Analytik Jena are planned.
"The opening of the competence center marks the start of a new era in the long-term cooperation with our Russian customers. The new competence center is going to contribute to providing even better support to our customers and assisting them in solving their analytical tasks. Of course we also hope to be able to open up the Russian market more for our products and services. We estimate the Russian market to be one of the most important future markets", said Klaus Berka, chair of the board of Analytik Jena AG.
