ABB introduces the new MB-Rx for Rx in-situ reaction monitoring

ABB MB-Rx in-situ Reaction MonitorABB, the leading power and automation technology group, announces the introduction of the new MB-Rx in-situ Reaction Monitor for research laboratories and pilot plants in the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries.

The MB-Rx is a plug-and-play solution designed around the key concepts of analytical performance, reliability and simplicity. This robust analyzer provides real-time insight into chemical reaction dynamics. Key parameters such as kinetics over different phases, reagent consumption and the synthesis of products and by-products can be assessed in real time.

The MB-Rx features a rugged Hastelloy ATR probe and an intuitive software interface that also allows for rapid set-up of experiment templates. The analyzer's compact footprint allows it to fit inside crowded fume hoods, providing convenient access to reactors. Permanently aligned optics and a light source with an average lifespan of 10 years make the MB-Rx virtually maintenance-free. In addition, it does not use hygroscopic optics or a cryogenic detector, thus eliminating the need for optical purging, desiccant cartridges, liquid nitrogen or Stirling coolers.

Stop by ABB booth #2559 during PITTCON 2012 from March 11 - 15 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida to see and try this brand new spectrometer.

ABB Analytical Measurement designs, manufactures and markets high-performance FT-IR/FT-NIR spectrometers as well as turnkey analytical solutions for the petroleum, chemical, life sciences, semiconductor, academic, metallurgy and OEM industries, along with spectroradiometers for the Remote Sensing/Aerospace market. ABB capabilities encompass one of the largest portfolios in the world in terms of laboratory, at-line and process analyzers.

The ABB Group of companies (www.abb.com) operates in some 100 countries and employs approximately 130,000 people. Its power and automation technologies enable industry customers to improve the operational performance and safety of their processes while lowering their environmental impact. In Canada, (www.abb.ca), ABB employs over 1,900 people in 40 locations from coast to coast.
