New Mosaic 6.0 Makes Sample Management More Intuitive and Cost-Effective
Titian Software has launched Mosaic 6.0, the latest version of its pre-eminent sample management software.
Ideal for the management of compounds, biologicals and reagents, Mosaic 6.0 developments include more intuitive interfaces for ordering and inventory searching, and additional functions all designed to further streamline laboratory workflows, save valuable work-time and maximise the cost-effective use of resources. With the release of Mosaic 6.0, a new optional Assay Requesting module is available which significantly improves the efficiency of the assay requesting process and optimises the use of reagents and consumables – all saving time and cost.
For Mosaic 6.0 users, the new Ordering interface is even easier to use. The use of preconfigured order templates for frequently delivered sample formats allows researchers to submit routine orders in a more simple and time-effective manner, freeing up time to focus on important research. A Mosaic system with the new Ordering functionality also features a global availability check to provide real-time feedback on sample location and format, across multi-site organisations (served by the same Mosaic system). The new Inventory Search interface enables users to easily and swiftly scan the entire sample inventory to identify sets of samples based on substance and container parameters, for example: received date, collection, and expiry date. Search criteria can be saved, published to all users and re-accessed, making it easier for users to identify and select substances required for an order request, generate inventory reports, export data, or create specific pick-lists.
An optional new Assay Requesting module is also available with Mosaic 6.0, which enables requestors to order compounds to be prepared in the correct format to support the selected assays, and assay/sample bank managers to respond efficiently to assay requests. With Mosaic’s Assay Requesting module, submitted requests can be aggregated to optimise reagent and plate usage, thereby minimising the waste of samples, reagents and consumables.
Titian Software’s CEO, Edmund Wilson, explained: “Sample management in the modern laboratory is driven by increasing efficiency demands. At Titian, we are always working to increase the productivity of sample management and processing, while responding to the need for ever more accurate sample traceability. Mosaic 6.0 is another major step forward in these areas, and with features such as improved inventory searching, predefined order templates and simple assay requesting, we can save our users valuable time and money.”
