Anton Paar’s air-counter-cooled Peltier temperature device PTD 80 for the rotational viscometers ViscoQC 100/300 not only saves space in the laboratory but also provides fast and highly accurate sample temperature control from +15 °C to +80 °C.

The unique T-Ready™ feature shows users when samples reach temperature equilibrium and measurement is automatically started afterwards.

 

Convenient start-up with automatic alignment check

The Peltier temperature device can be installed right away by simply plugging in the connection cable to ViscoQC 100/300 as no additional external power supply is needed. Since counter-cooling is done with air, the use of an external liquid thermostat can be avoided, which also means that required space and maintenance are reduced to a minimum. After ViscoQC 100/300 is switched on, an intuitive digital leveling function checks for correct PTD 80 alignment. The alignment check is also performed before, during, and after each measurement.

 

Handy design to significantly simplify sample temperature control

PTD 80 is easily controlled by the software of ViscoQC 100/300. ViscoQC 300 has a measurement mode called “Temperature Scan”: Viscosity measurements at different temperatures can be carried out automatically and in a very efficient way as only each desired measuring temperature within a method needs to be entered on the stand-alone ViscoQC 300.

 

The only temperature device signaling that a sample has reached equilibrium

As temperature is the main influence on viscosity, a stable temperature control is necessary in order to achieve trustable results. The Peltier temperature device not only keeps the sample temperature of DIN and SC4 spindles stable within ±0.1 °C but also tells users when a sample has reached the required measurement temperature. The measurement is automatically started afterwards: Save time and simply let ViscoQC 100/300 do the work for you.
