Facing the challenge of efficiency in bio-pharmaceutical industry
With continuously increasing volumetric productivity in fermentation processes, new stationary phases can help to overcome shortcomings in downstream processing. In order to address this YMC has developed a new Ion Exchange resin with high dynamic binding capacity and low nonspecific interaction. This helps to reduce “cost of goods” in the production process.
The Ion Exchange capture material is based on the same hydrophilic polymer matrix already used for the successful analytical phase.
Analytical BioPro columns (particle size: 5µm, pore size 100 nm) have proven to show low non specific binding and high dynamic binding capacity. Results from the continuously growing user-base confirm: the new
BioPro is a high class IEX phase.
As can be seen in the figure the analytical phase already shows excellent loadability. Now, a capture material with similar properties is available. The material is offered with a particle size of 75µm and a pore size of 100 nm. The narrow particle size distribution makes it perfect for high capacity capture steps with low backpressure and highly efficient intermediate purification steps. (More particle sizes are in preparation.)
