ELGA Process Water

ELGA Process Water’s environmentally friendly SDI cylindersThe UK's longest established cylinder exchange service from ELGA Process Water is now available online.  You can purchase and redeem your SDI vouchers 24/7 and with special online only rates, you'll save time and money - just go to www.elgaprocesswater.co.uk/sdi

SDI (Service Deionisation) is a flexible, simple and sustainable way to supply a wide range of laboratory applications with high quality purified water (up to 18.2 M?) delivered at a flow rate to suit your needs. In addition, to reduce your consumables budget SDI can be connected up front of your water purification equipment to prolong the life of your consumables.  You can purchase single pre-paid exchanges, voucher books or take advantage of SDI Inclusive which provides all the benefits of SDI without the capital costs. ELGA Process Water then supplies you with a cylinder containing mixed bed ion exchange resins which you simply connect to a tap to produce high purity deionised water. When the cylinder is exhausted, all you need to do is redeem your exchange voucher and a replacement cylinder will be delivered and the exhausted cylinder collected for reprocessing.  SDI is supported by Veolia Environmental Services transport fleet, their centrally located depot and route planning technology ensures an efficient delivery system is provided to customers around the UK

And now there's more good news: SDI has become even more sustainable. ELGA Process Water's Regeneration Centre at Stoke-on-Trent recycles over 98% of the ion exchange resin used in SDI cylinders and works with a waste recycling facility in Nottingham to convert waste resin into solid recovered fuel (SRF). The resulting material can be burned in licensed cement kilns or power generation plants, with full emission control, where every 2 tonnes of SRF replaces a tonne of fossil fuel. And the bottom ash can be recycled for construction and road building. The reduction in landfill and replacement of precious fossil fuels means a net reduction in environmental impact.

So now SDI is not only easier to use but easier on the environment.
