Determination of Trace Sodium in Cranberry Powder
Thermo Fisher Scientific is pleased to announce a Reagent-FreeTM ion chromatography (RFICTM) method that determines trace concentrations of sodium in cranberry powder, yielding results within 15% of those reported by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and thus demonstrating the viability of this alternate analysis technique.
The RFIC system enhances the level of automation and improves ease of use as well as inter- and intralaboratory data reproducibility.Application Note 1003: Determination of Trace Sodium in Cranberry Powder demonstrates use of electrolytic eluent generation with our cation-exchange column (Thermo Fisher Dionex IonPac CS12A column) and suppressed conductivity detection. In addition, the RFIC system can be used to determine other important analytes in this matrix, such as organic acids, that cannot be determined by commonly used spectroscopic techniques used to determine sodium. This application note and many others can be found at www.thermoscientific.com/dionex under the Documents tab.
