BioTek Instruments Donates $25K to Benefit STEM Complex at The University of Vermont

BioTek proudly announces its donation of $25,000 towards the construction of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Complex at The University of Vermont (UVM).

biotekThis facility marks UVM’s largest ever capital project and is anticipated to transform the Central Campus with three interconnected buildings.

UVM President, Tom Sullivan, J.D., noted, "We greatly value BioTek's investment in our vision for the future of STEM education and research at UVM.  The new STEM facility will serve as a critical resource that greatly enhances UVM's ability to address 21st Century challenges. Partnerships with our business and industry partners positively influences Vermont's role as a beacon for talent in the STEM fields and beyond."

"It is with great enthusiasm that BioTek is supporting the University of Vermont's state-of-the-art STEM Complex of laboratories, classrooms and research facilities,” commented Briar Alpert, BioTek President and CEO. “These facilities will be foundational in the creation of a team-based, innovative environment that will allow students and faculty to learn, to explore and to contribute to the discoveries that lie ahead. The focus on STEM disciplines will provide meaningful skills that students can immediately apply when transitioning into the workforce."

The multi-phase STEM Complex construction is expected to be completed in mid-2019.
