Life Technologies Acquires Laboratoire Service International

Life
Technologies Corporation today announced it has acquired Laboratoire
Service International (LSI), a French-based manufacturer of animal health
diagnostics.
LSI's portfolio will be added to Life Technologies' complementary diagnostic solutions and services and leverage its distribution channels to provide the global market with a wider selection of fast and accurate tools to test for common pathogens and diseases in production animals.
"Combining the breadth of complementary solutions in our respective portfolios will benefit customers in Europe," said Nir Nimrodi, Vice President and General Manager, Food Safety and Animal Health. "LSI offers first-class diagnostic products that will enhance our market presence, while our global reach will provide new channels for these products."
