This year the professional fair Laborama already took place for the 13th time. 2,114 professionals visited the trade fair and amongst others discovered the novelties presented by the 132 companies that exhibited at Laborama. The large attendance from as well visitors as exhibitors confirms that the current format of Laborama is still successful. This opinion is sustained by the first results from the surveys sent to both groups. They confirm their satisfaction with the current formula and mainly the accessibility and friendly ambiance makes it easy to make new contacts.

During the first exhibition day the award for the Analist of the Year (Analist van het Jaar/ JeuneChimiste de l'année) was elected for the first time. This student prize is an initiative of the trade assosiation UDIAS (also organizer of Laborama) in collaboration with KVCV (association of Flemish chemists) and ABTL/BVLT (Belgian association of laboratory technicians) to promote and support the education of professional bachelors in chemistry, biomedical laboratory technology, environmental, agro- and biotechnology offered at Belgian schools of higher education.

During this year's edition a seminar program was set up. In both exhibition halls a seminar room was built. One seminar room was to the exclusive use of the exhibitors for giving product presentations. In the 2nd seminar room invited speakers gave presentations on ‘Biotechnology and Live Sciences, what innovations lay ahead of us', the central theme chosen for the 13rd edition of Laborama.

In 2013, Laborama will take place in Brussels Kart Expo once again on March 14 and 15. Exhibitors can subscribe to participate via the website www.laborama.be as from October 1, 2012. Visitors will be able to preregister on the same website from January 2, onward.
