Optical Surfaces Ltd, through its local distributor Jeewoo Photonics Ltd. has been selected to supply a  mounted 600mm diameter off-axis parabolic mirror to the Samsung Thales R&D Center (Gyeonggi-do, South Korea).

New patent for Spark Holland

Spark Holland B.V. is pleased to announce the publication of US patent no. US 8586382 B2 which relates to a method and an apparatus for desorption of a blood sample from a medical test sheet comprising at least one dried blood spot (DBS) for the purpose of biomedical analysis of the blood sample. The patent allows that the new method eliminates the need for first punching out a disc area of the test sheet containing dried blood sample, thus speeding up the procedure considerably and that on-line desorption of dried blood spots is faster and easier and allows for further automation of the process.

Discovery Park Enterprise Zone in East Kent has been awarded more than £6 million to transform buildings and create labs. 

The share in a £100 million nationwide infrastructure fund is designed to stimulate job creation – the zone’s target is 3,000 by 2017 - and even faster growth, Discovery Park, the former Pfizer site near Sandwich, will invest the money in the refurbishment, redesign and fitting out of three vacant buildings – or parts of buildings – for employment use. The decision was being confirmed today (January 29) by Stephen Williams, the Communities Minister, during a visit to the park.
