Pittcon 2015 Announces Call for Topics for Conferee Networking Sessions
The Conferee Networking Committee is pleased to announce its annual Call for Topics for Conferee Networking.
These two-hour sessions provide a unique networking opportunity for attendees with similar interests to meet and resolve problems, discuss new techniques, or brainstorm new ideas in an informal setting.
The deadline to submit a topic for consideration is August 31, 2014, and instructions can be found at pittcon.org. The Conferee Networking committee will review the topics, and status notifications will be sent after September 2014.
This year there will be approximately 30 facilitated sessions during Conference week. These unique networking events, scheduled for the morning and afternoon, will begin on Sunday and run through Wednesday. General topics include discussions in areas such as analytical chemistry, instrumentation user groups, pharmaceuticals, environmental science, energy/fuels, nanotechnology and food science..
The benefits of hosting a Session include increasing awareness for a specific topic, finding solutions to challenges, networking with colleagues, and recognition in the Pittcon 2015 program.
When asked to comment on the Call for Topics, Conferee Networking Chairmen Helen Boylan stated, “Hosting a Conferee Networking session helps to establish leadership skills. We are looking for submissions such as a "hot topic" in analytical chemistry, a user group (such as LC-MS users group) or a colleague discussion group (such as a lab manager discussion group). “ She added, “Our goal is to incorporate high-quality sessions that can become recurring topics in the Conferee Networking program."
