A new case study from Autoscribe Informatics discusses the use of the Matrix LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) in the Cereal, Milling and Baking Science Laboratory at Allied Technical Centre (ATC).
It illustrates how a flexible, configurable LIMS can be adapted by the users themselves to meet changing requirements. Successive versions of Matrix have been implemented at ATC for over 20 years, beginning with V2 in the mid-1990s.
The case study, available for download shows how Matrix has transformed the management of sample data at ATC. The major benefit offered by Matrix is the configurability and the flexibility it brings in allowing staff at ATC to evolve the system to meet their needs. The case study also shows how many of the individual functions within Matrix have been found to be particularly useful.
John Boother, President of Autoscribe Informatics, said: “This case study is the perfect illustration of how Matrix can provide a ‘LIMS for life’. ATC has ported its data through different versions of Matrix over many years and has used the inherent configurability of the system not only to meet their needs exactly but also to adapt to changing requirements over an extended period of time”.
