Get ready for the return of Lab Innovations
The UK’s biggest trade show for the lab industry is back
On November 3 and 4, 2021, Lab Innovations, the UK’s largest trade exhibition for the laboratory industry, returns to the NEC in Birmingham. Leading scientists, professionals, researchers and more will come together for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic following a period of huge scientific breakthroughs. Exhibitors will showcase innovations from sectors including life sciences, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food and drink, cleanrooms and more.
After a long stop to exhibitions, Lab Innovations 2021 will be the industry’s first big opportunity to showcase and celebrate its recent innovations, driving the business of science again. At the event, attendees will be able to discover the latest lab tech, source a vast range of products and gain insight into data-driven case studies, such as those from Green Light Laboratories, which demonstrate the impact of sustainable initiatives in the lab.
The ninth edition of Lab Innovations will focus on cutting-edge digital tech that can increase laboratory sustainability and efficiency. For the first time, Lab Innovations will be co-hosted with Advanced Engineering UK, enabling even better cross-industry collaboration.
“This is going to be a much-needed opportunity for the scientific community to network face-to-face after such a long time apart,” said Aleiya Lonsdale, Head of Marketing at Easyfairs, the organiser of Lab Innovations and Advanced Engineering.
Among the large list of exhibitors that attendees can visit are Anton Paar, Cole-Parmer, CEM Microwave Technology, IKA, NOVACYT, Eppendorf UK, Huber UK, VWS UK, Julabo, Sartorius, and Scientific Laboratory Supplies. Exciting newcomers include Mettler Toledo, Edwards Vacuum, TMQA and BMM Weston.
Lab Innovations will also be taking extra health and safety precautions this year to ensure attendees can experience the event in a safe environment. To do this, EasyGo Digital smart badges will be used to help limit contact by allowing visitors to gather product and exhibitor information throughout the event with a simple swipe.
Visitors will also be able to earn CPD points from four free-to-attend theatre programmes – the Royal Society of Chemistry Theatre, the Insights & Innovation Theatre, the Cleanroom Hub and Live Lab.
Timandra Harkness, science writer, broadcaster and comedian will be a keynote speaker at the event as well as materials scientist and broadcaster Mark Miodownik. Other confirmed speakers include Andy Evans, director of lab sustainability consultancy Green Light Laboratories, and Martin Farley, sustainable labs advisor at University College London.
Furthermore, this year’s exhibition will feature a brand-new event, the Lab Awards. Scheduled on November 3 — the first day of the show — by Lab Innovations in partnership with Laboratory News, the awards will recognise key achievements in the laboratory industry. With the leading brands in the industry set to attend, Lab Awards is not an event to be missed.
