Diabetes Professional Care 2015 Launches in London
Diabetes Professional Care 2015, the inaugural free-to-attend two day conference and exhibition being held at The Barbican Exhibition Centre on 11 & 12 November 2015, is attracting major support from industry leaders looking to better understand and prevent diabetes.
The annual bill for treating diabetes on the NHS is estimated to be almost £10 billion, with about 80 percent of that spent on managing complications of the disease. Diabetes Professional Care 2015 has been launched in response to this, committing itself to the industry, working towards the prevention, management and empowerment of patients both now and in the future.
For its debut edition, the show will feature a host of major name suppliers, alongside a two day CPD accredited conference programme. The internationally renowned speakers bring together diabetes professionals from around the world. These include experts from Commissioning Support Services & Market Development for NHS England, The Kings Fund and leading industry blogger Ninjabetic. Those who have a professional interest in the prevention, management, newest developments, key innovations, top technologies and latest thinking around the treatment and care of diabetes will want to make sure this date is firmly in their calendar.
Toby Baker, Event Director of Diabetes Professional Care 2015 comments: “The show has been designed by healthcare professionals for healthcare professionals, with the key focus on providing our visitors with all relevant information to empower patients to manage their own care. We will be discussing the critical industry topics, sharing firsthand experiences and looking at the latest innovations. The conference is CPD accredited, which means healthcare professionals can pick up CPD points live on the showfloor, so attending the show will also support a delegate’s professional development.”
Diabetes is a critical issue for the UK, with the latest figures from charity Diabetes UK showing that 3.3 million people suffer from the condition, increasing by 1.2 million over the last ten years. In the long term diabetes patients and those with long term illnesses will become solely responsible for their own care and the associated costs that come with it. As a result healthcare professionals and patient facing organisations will increasingly be expected to supply information that empowers patients to self-manage their own care.
The unique free-to-attend CPD accredited conference will provide a platform for the latest product and service innovations to be showcased, and an opportunity for industry peers to network, do business and update their knowledge. Over 100 workshops supporting the main conference agenda, offering something for everyone, will take place over the two days covering everything from diabetes management and complications to research and primary care.
With diabetes rates and the associated costs escalating, healthcare professionals are looking for new solutions. In response, Diabetes Professional Care 2015 will also feature the Digital Health Kitchen, where ten exciting start-up organisations will showcase the best and most innovative products and services in the treatment and management of diabetes care. The Diabetes Village will also be available, providing a networking and meeting place for healthcare professionals and researchers to speak with likeminded individuals in the diabetes field.
Diabetes Professional Care 2015 will be held on the 11 & 12 November 2015 at London’s Barbican Exhibition Centre.
