Analytik Jena receives two LABO Awards "Product of the Year 2023"
Best Analytical Solution and Best Lab 4.0 Technology
Analytik Jena GmbH has received two "Product of the Year 2023" awards from the industry journal LABO for its innovative and user-friendly products. The award goes to a product of the laboratory technology manufacturer from Jena in both the "Laboratory 4.0" and "Analytics" categories. With the products APU 28 connect for automated AOX sample preparation and the laboratory robot CyBio Carry for automating laboratory workflows in the life science sector, Analytik Jena was able to prevail over numerous competitors.
Best product in the "Analytics" category: APU 28 connect
In the category "Analytics", the AOX sample preparation series APU 28 connect receives the LABO reader award "Product of the Year 2023". APU 28 connect provides a rapid screening method for determining contamination by organic halogens in, for example, wastewater and surface water in accordance with official standards (e.g. ISO 9562, EPA 1650, ISO 11480).
Angela Gröbel, Product Manager for EA and TOC at Analytik Jena, explains, „To ensure that all types of water samples and eluates can be analyzed equally well and reliably, regardless of the level of difficulty, a flexible and highly automated sample preparation system is required. The APU 28 connect offers a maximum degree of automation and reduces handling steps and possible sources of error, which is particularly important in SPE-AOX sample preparation. Simultaneously, it saves costs and processing time."
The individual samples are processed immediately one after the other. The first samples are available for analysis in the shortest possible time after enrichment. High-precision pump technology ensures that the prescribed adsorption speed is precisely maintained. The system is thus ideally suited to the increased need for high-throughput and automation in AOX and AOF analysis. „We are very honored to receive this direct award, from the actual users of our products," said Angela Gröbel.

Award-winning technology for Lab 4.0: CyBio Carry
The winner among LABO readers in the "Lab 4.0" category is the CyBio Carry automation robot. Compared to other existing solutions, the collaboration robot offers maximum flexibility – both spatially and in terms of application – thanks to its ultra-compact but always scalable form. The CyBio Carry can be easily integrated into existing laboratory environments and is therefore the ideal complement to existing benchtop setups that are to be automated.
In combination with the CyBio Composer (software), CyBio Carry works reliably and enables a perfectly coordinated, harmonious collaboration of all laboratory devices. The powerful scripting environment provides maximum functionality, smooth integration of a large number of laboratory instruments and comprehensive database connectivity. For the best possible linking of all laboratory processes, the system can be individually programmed according to customer requirements. Its user-friendly handling also sets it apart from the competition. CyBio Carry makes laboratory processes particularly profitable – maximum automation with minimum effort.
„This award confirms that we really do meet the high demands for an easy-to-use and resource-saving laboratory," says Ariane Jonetz-Mentzel, Head of Product Management Life Science Solutions at Analytik Jena. „The CyBio Carry offers laboratories a completely automated solution for the harmonious cooperation of a wide range of analytical devices and instruments and thus a particularly efficient processing of the corresponding workflows - with minimal space requirements," Ariane Jonetz-Mentzel continues.
