Synbiosis, a long-established, expert manufacturer of automated microbiological systems, has introduced its new ProDilute gravimetric diluter.

ProDilute gravmetric diluter from SynbiosisThe system, complete with automated volume adjustment diluting is suitable for busy microbiology laboratories that want rapid, accurate and repeatable sample dilutions.

The ProDilute features automatic dilution of diluent based on the weight of the sample, guaranteeing precision, as well as protecting microbiologists from repetitive strain injury issues associated with repeatedly pipetting large numbers of dilutions.

Using the ProDilute, which is compatible with the Synbiosis ProBlend sample blending system, dilutions (1 to 1/100) of blended food and environmental samples can be processed at speed. The dilutions are dispensed using space saving ‘Plug and Play’ flexible pumps, which can be added as and when the laboratory is busy, allowing up to four different diluents to be dispensed.

With ProDilute, contamination issues are reduced through the easy-to-use dispensing nozzles and the ‘finger stop’ system. The diluter also has a detachable bag holder and is built from stainless steel, making cleaning quick and simple.

“Busy food testing labs often require a precise, high capacity and contamination free system for diluting samples,” comments Kate George, Senior Divisional Manager at Synbiosis, “the new ProDilute is perfect for this application. Since the diluter is compatible with our new ProBlend, this integrated technology is ideal for microbiologists looking for a safe method of improving their accuracy and throughput when processing multiple food samples for microbial testing.”
