Fastrak-ZAP-Growing-Greener-Together

Back in 2009 the first seed of Alpha Laboratories’ tree planting scheme Laboratree was sown.

Thanks to the dedicated LaboraTree members who have been collecting tokens from their pipette tip packs, over 1,500 trees have now been planted across the country and are helping make a difference to our environment.

To celebrate 10 years, Alpha Laboratories has introduced an extra way to collect tokens and plant more trees. LaboraTree tokens will now appear on ZAP™ tip packs in addition to Fastrak® tip refill packs.

Fastrak-ZAP-Growing-Greener-TogetherFastrak® is an ingenious pipette tip refill system that minimises waste, saves time and space and helps you to lower your carbon footprint. Compared with other tip refill systems it is smaller, lighter and uses less packaging. Its production is eco-friendly all the way, using renewable, fully recyclable materials, non-toxic vegetable inks and solar power. They are designed to fit most major pipette brands and are thoroughly tested for assurance of accuracy and precision with your pipette, time after time.

ZAP™ Filter Tips are Fastrak’s sister product, and made with sunshine too!  30% of the energy needed to make ZAP tips comes directly from solar panels.  They make the perfect green tip combination as ZAP tip boxes can be refilled with Fastrak tips, enabling them to be re-used again and again.

Derek Connolly at National Milk Laboratories, who have just planted their 100th tree, says,“We chose Fastrak due to the quality of the tips, the price, the time saved refilling tip boxes, plus the added bonus of helping the environment with the Laboratree scheme.  Our lab team think it is rewarding and actively participate in ensuring they retrieve the stickers from the boxes so that we can grow our “own” mini forest.  I think the Laboratree scheme is valuable and should be supported as laboratory work can be frustrating with how much non-recyclable material is produced, so if we can help the environment in any way we should.”

The Laboratree scheme is free to join and exclusive to Fastrak and ZAP tip users, so, on this 10-year anniversary let’s create a better environment.  There's never been a better time to join the LaboraTree scheme!
