Trajan announces acquisition of Soltec Inc
Soltec was founded in 1982 by Jim Berray and grew to become one of the most respected manufacturers of septa and caps for use in chromatography workflow solutions.
Sadly Jim passed away in 2017, but his team continued their dedicated work, building on their solid foundation of expertise in silicone chemistry, materials technology and production automation.
Chief Executive Officer of Trajan, Mr Stephen Tomisich, comments, “We are pleased to welcome the Soltec team into the Trajan family and intend to continue operating from the current site. Bringing Soltec into the Trajan Group will complement the widening capability of Trajan in sample handling. From collection point to workflow transport, we see ensuring the integrity of the sample as integral to ensuring quality analytical outcomes. The purity and inertness of the Soltec range of capped septa is an important addition to deliver on our pre-analytical strategy.
Chief Scientific Officer of Trajan, Dr Andrew Gooley adds, “Soltec highly complements Trajan’s existing chromatography portfolio and we look forward to building the product range and investing in new technologies to address the needs of emerging analytical challenges.”
The acquisition of Soltec solidifies Trajan’s expanding manufacturing footprint, with established sites in Penang (Malaysia), Melbourne (Victoria, Australia), San Diego (CA, USA), Raleigh (NC, USA) and Austin (TX, USA), producing products and technologies that service the Global Analytical and Life Science markets.
Trajan continues to deliver to their vision developing and providing integrated scientific measurement devices to enrich the wellbeing of communities through science, with a robust acquisition history including LEAP Technologies Inc (2016), Epic Extrusion (2016), HD Scientific (2014), SGE Analytical Science (2013) and Grale Scientific (2011).
