Analytical laboratories standardized on the Waters® Empower® Chromatography Data System (CDS) now have a wider choice of Thermo Scientific chromatography systems and modules which can be integrated into this environment.

Users of Thermo Scientific Dionex UltiMate 3000 series UHPLC and HPLC systems can now drive Thermo Scientific Dionex Corona Veo charged aerosol detectors and Thermo Scientific Dionex UltiMate 3000 ECD-3000RS electrochemical detectors with Waters Empower. The new version 1.12 of Thermo Scientific Dionex Instrument Integration (DII) for Empower enables control of these additional instruments on any LC system controlled by Empower for additional freedom in experimental design.

“The chromatography community values freedom of choice, and we are committed to delivering this,” said Wulff Niedner, Thermo Fisher director, HPLC product marketing. “We build flexibility into our systems, and we build flexibility into our software. Integrating these two detectors with Empower is the latest example of this commitment.”

The Thermo Scientific Dionex Corona Veo is an advanced charged aerosol detector designed to provide LC detection for non-volatile and semi-volatile compounds, from large to small molecules such as drugs, additives, supplements, specialty chemicals, and polymers. The Corona Veo detector is now compatible with an expanded application portfolio that includes capillary, microbore and analytical scale UHPLC and HPLC columns.

The Thermo Scientific Dionex UltiMate ECD-3000RS detector is designed for the high sensitivity needed for neurotransmitter analysis, simplicity and robustness for pharmaceutical or clinical research and the selectivity demanded by the characterization of complex samples such as natural products, biological tissues and fluids.
