publication date: Mar 30, 2012
author/source: kdm communications limited

Pro-Lab DiagnosticsPro-Lab Diagnostics has launched a rapid visual assay for the detection of norovirus in faecal samples. NOROTOP+® is a qualitative lateral flow assay allowing effective detection of norovirus in faecal samples in just 15 minutes.

The number of reported norovirus cases is on the increase throughout the UK, with explosive outbreaks of this highly contagious pathogen leading to acute gastroenteritis. To improve outbreak management and help reduce transmission of the virus, Pro-Lab Diagnostics has developed NOROTOP+®. This simple visual assay uses specific monoclonal antibodies to allow rapid, one-step detection of norovirus genogroups I and II, offering excellent sensitivity and specificity to help you quickly and conveniently identify and manage outbreaks. The individually packaged test strips can be safely stored at room temperature for up to 12 months, providing a practical and economical solution for norovirus testing whenever the need arises.

To mark the UK launch of this innovative assay, Pro-Lab Diagnostics is currently offering discounted introductory rates on all NOROTOP+® test kits. Please contact your local technical representative for more details or for more information visit
