Markes International (Llantrisant, UK) has announced that it has opened a second office in the USA, near Sacramento, California.

This office will provide more local support to West Coast customers, and following the opening of Markes’ Cincinnati office in 2012, reflects the extent to which the company’s business is growing within the USA.

Ken Umbarger, Markes’ VP of Sales & Service for the Americas, said “A large part of our business and potential business is in California, so having a West Coast presence for sales and service means we can assist local customers much more efficiently”. Watson added “The California office also provides a closer connection with our distribution partners, all of whom have major sites in the San Francisco Bay area”.

The opening of the second office within the USA is the most recent stage in the expansion of Markes’ global operations, with the company just recently having moved into a third unit on their UK site in Llantrisant, near Cardiff, to allow for its expanding production facility. Markes also has a technical support centre in Germany that provides local support to its distribution partners and customers in the DACH region.
