UKAS calibrationThe United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) has granted accreditation to Malvern-based Validair Monitoring Solutions Limited (VMSL) for Laboratory Calibration services that comply with ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

The accreditation is granted with immediate effect following a detailed assessment by UKAS.

As a recognised standard,ISO17025 specifies the general requirements for the competence to carry out tests or calibrations. It covers testing and calibration performed using standard methods, non-standard methods and laboratory-developed methods.

Validair Monitoring Solutions Limited (Laboratory number 9791) has received accreditation for temperature calibrations, allowing the company to offer a higher quality and truly traceable level of calibration to customers that wish to adopt, or whose business activity mandates, UKAS accredited calibrations that comply with ISO17025.This complements the accreditation already given to sister company Validair (Euro) Limited, trading as Diamond Scientific, an accredited testing laboratory for a comprehensive range of tests performed on contamination control facilities and equipment (Laboratory number 4264).

“It’s all about traceability, capability and competency, assuring compliance and quality,” explains Steve Wake, VMSL Managing Director. “This accreditation is typically requested by our customers and others across the laboratory and cleanroom sectors to confirm that businesses like ours, who provide testing and calibration services, are truly competent. Our UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation signifies compliance with the rigorous requirements detailed in the standard. It stands to make Validair an obvious choice to deliver these critical laboratory services,” Wake concludes.

Marshalling the company’s resources to pass the stringent UKAS assessment was a concerted team effort at Validair. The process was headed up by Applications Manager, Mike Pemberton.“I extend my personal thanks to him and his industrious team of engineers,” says Wake.

He continues:“We look forward to continuing to provide a high-quality service to organisations in industries that can benefit from ISO17025:2017 accredited calibrations, such as medical laboratories, and aerospace and automotive manufacturers.Where trace ability is required or desired, Validair provides the solution. In addition, Validairis naturally keen to offer UKAS-accredited test and calibration services to our existing customer base long into the future.
