THREE innovative businesses have signed up as new tenants at Liverpool Science Park’s £8m third building.

ASep Healthcare and Bartle Read have taken state-of-the-art office space, while Contract Analytical Laboratories will be moving from its existing premises at MerseyBio into new laboratory space.

The three businesses join the first new tenants at the 40,000sq ft facility off Mount Pleasant including Ryder Architecture - the architects behind the scheme - and pioneering research company Karm Research Group.

ASep Healthcare are developers of an award winning disposable tourniquet. The unique product is the only medical tourniquet to have been clinically trialled and is designed to prevent cross infection between patients. ASep has previously secured £120,000 investment from The North West Fund for Biomedical SPARK Impact, also based at Liverpool Science Park, and is set to reach £1 million revenue by the end of the year.

Bartle Read is an intellectual property company specialising in patents, designs and copyright, and has moved to the 2nd floor of the new building.  The company works with both domestic and international innovative business to help protect their technical innovations against imitation.

Robin Bartle, co-director of Bartle Read said: “After looking at other offices around Liverpool, we chose the space at Liverpool Science Park as it provides the perfect working environment and base for smaller firms. It also gives us the chance to be part of a centre of innovation allowing us to meet other technology driven companies that will help our business grow further.”

Contract Analytical Laboratories, which provides pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical development solutions, is moving into the brand new laboratories on the 3rd floor. The company was founded in 2012 and offers a range of services including ICH stability testing, method development and feasibility studies.

Jon Greenacre, Director of CA Laboratories said: “The new state-of-the-art labs offer us the perfect base to ensure we have the means and the facilities to provide our clients with excellent solutions and services.”

Chris Musson, chief executive of Liverpool Science Park said: “We’re delighted to welcome these three businesses to the science park and each brings a quality, unique service which further enhances the vibrant community of knowledge-based companies based here.

“The businesses perfectly complement the ones we already have with, for example, Bartle Read able to offer IP services to our current tenants. In addition, businesses such as ASep can benefit from having its investee company SPARK Impact close by and CA Laboratories can benefit from the strong links we have to universities and grant funding.”
