Scripting Language Increases Power of Jaz Modular Spectrometer
Now available for Ocean Optics' Jaz modular sensing system, Jaz Scripting Language (Jaz-SPL),enables users to customize spectrometer data acquisition, processing and export functions.
Jaz is a family of stackable components that share common electronics and communications. Included in the Jaz stack is a CCD-array spectrometer that can be optimized for a variety of measurements and a microprocessor with display. With Jaz-SPL, the power of its onboard microprocessor can be harnessed with scripts for simple data acquisition, processing and export of results to an SD card. An Ethernet-equipped Jaz can be remotely controlled by a PC, or the Jaz can run the script from an SD card with no need for a PC. As a reference point for starting new scripts, sample scripts and a programming language reference manual are included with the software.
The modular design of the Jaz family, with user-selected grating and slit options optimized for a variety of application needs, allows it to be customized for a range of applications in field, lab or process environments. With the new software, users will be able to further tailor measurements to their requirements, without any special programming knowledge.
