What looks good, performs good and has the perfect price?

Omega Fluor from AplegenWhen it comes to small, compact gel documentation systems nothing comes close to the Omega Fluor from Aplegen. This entry level gel imaging systems not only looks good on the bench but it has an exceptional performance.

The Omega Fluor is an entry level gel imaging system that comes standard with the basic components and exceptional safety features for DNA and protein gel imaging. With a single wavelength UV transilluminator that is fully integrated into a light-tight cabinet, gone are the days of modular hoods sitting awkwardly on top of light boxes. A UV-safety switch, auto UV-shutoff, and a UV-blocking viewport are standard features while a high resolution camera and focus free lens with SmartCapture Technology™ maintains the integrity of your samples with exceptional imaging performance.

The Omega Fluor punches above its weight with a 5m pixel camera which puts the performance of this system in a different class. No camera or focusing adjustments are required to simply capture outstanding images of all your DNA and protein gels. What also makes this product stand out for its size is the large imaging area. Very few systems of this type can boast a 24 x 20cm with a resolution of 5m pixels.

The versatility of the Omega Fluor means that it is capable of working with UV and white light illumination across an extensive list of dyes which includes SYBR® Safe, SYBR family, Ethidium Bromide, Coomassie Blue, Silver Stain, AdvanStain Scarlet, SYPRO® Ruby, Oriole™ and more.

The small footprint is matched with a small price. Just add a computer, tablet or laptop of your choice and you have the perfect system for any laboratory looking to do routine image capture of gels and blots and without investing your entire budget.

Says Aplegen: “the Omega Fluor is one of our most popular models. Its small size, low price and good performance make it a ‘must-have’ imager for many laboratories”.
