Rentschler Biotechnologie GmbH is pleased to announce the second Laupheimer Zelltage , a biennial industrial cell culture technology conference to be held on June 11-12, 2012 at Laupheim's historical castle, Schloss Großlaupheim. The aim of the Laupheimer Zelltage conferences is to provide comprehensive scientific updates on cutting-edge technologies and to discuss application-oriented topics as a means to advance protein and virus-based biologics production. The conference will bring together 200 academic and industrial experts on cell culture and process technology from all over the world. The official conference language is English.

The theme of the second Laupheimer Zelltage is "Bioprocess light". The conference will focus on key factors that allow fast, robust, economically competitive processes. One of the sessions will be on "New Targets for Animal Cell Technology" with lectures covering increase of productivity (Dr. Martin Gawlitzek, Genentech Inc., San Francisco, USA), the prediction of productivity by gene expression analysis (Prof. Martin Clynes, Dublin City University, Ireland) and virus-based biologics as new product candidates (Dr. Markus Hörer, Rentschler Biotechnologie GmbH, Germany). The keynote lecture will be held by Prof. Manuel Carrondo (IBET, Portugal).
