Combining a growing three-day trade fair (Nov. 4th to 6th) and a top-level four-day scientific congress (Nov. 3rd to 6th), JIB brings together in a single place every year a growing number of hospital and private sector biologists, companies, researchers, technicians, and interns… In 2008, close to 10,000 attended (23% from abroad) to get information, share their experience, and discover the technical innovations of 178 exhibitors (suppliers of material and reagents for laboratories, computer engineering and maintenance companies, service providers, and associations, etc.).
The BioMI pavilion, Biologie Moléculaire Initiative (Molecular Biology Initiative), created in 2008, is continuing its development, and this year to gain a better understanding of the scientific and medical potential of nanotechnologies JIB is creating for the first time Nano in Bio.

Hugely successful in the past, with a growth rate since 2007 of 39%, the Congress will gather the top-level French, British and American specialists dealing with a compelling main theme: «The Biology of Cancers ».
Furthermore, to promote scientific production, JIB has for the first time issued a Call for Posters around a panel of experts and is organising the Best Poster Prize.
