2019 Biophotonics & Biomedical Microscopy Conference

Taking place between 10:00-16:30 on Wednesday 9th October in The Jaguar Suite at Photonex

Prof. Mark Leake - University of York will present "Molecular precise optical microscopy for complex biological questions." Other leading researchers in the field will be giving presentations on a range of related topics, including novel, spectroscopy, nanoscale imaging, biomedical applications of novel microscopy techniques, image analysis and imaging frontiers. They will showcase the vibrant research and state-of-the-art in these areas with applications in understanding complex biological systems, improving diagnostics, biomedical imaging and therapy.

Taking place between 10:00-16:30 on Wednesday 9th October in The Jaguar Suite at Photonex, this one-day conference, the 6th in the series, enjoys a reputation for showcasing the most significant recent advances in biophotonics technology and techniques.

It will be ideal for anyone wishing to learn more on these subjects for uses in the bio-medical/ clinical/ the life science disciplines and is sure to be inspiring.

I would also like to advise you of the Call for Poster Presentations. Presenters will have the opportunity to give a short (3 minute) oral introduction to their poster. As in past years the popular poster session will be located inside the Photonex exhibition for maximum exposure and impact. This meeting is an opportunity for you to contribute to research knowledge and to meet with like-minded researchers, early career scientists and to network at a high level.

Poster contributions were welcomed on the wider field of 'photonics' when related to aspects of biophotonics including biomedical spectroscopy and bio-imaging.

The programmme includes

  • 3D and Light Sheet microscopy.
  • Advanced microscopy including fluorescence & multiphoton.
  • Clinical Raman Spectroscopy and Imaging.
  • Fluorescence lifetime tomography.
  • Global Health.
  • Lab on a chip.
  • Live-cell, non-invasive imaging.
  • Optical biosensing.
  • Optical coherence tomography (OCT).
  • Optical microscopy.
  • Optical trapping and manipulation.
  • Optogenetics.
  • Point of care diagnostics.
  • Surface plasmon resonance imaging.
  • Super resolution imaging.
