Easy Access to the Power and Precision that Matter Most for Your Application Success

Hamilton Company is pleased to announce that its newest automated liquid handling platform, the Microlab® Prep™, is now available through their e-commerce site in the United States and Canada. The compact Microlab Prep provides full walkaway convenience and outstanding liquid handling performance in workflows using 96- and 384-well microplates and other sample vessels.

Attention to even the smallest detail can make a major difference in downstream results. The Microlab Prep uses Compressed O-Ring Expansion (CO-RE®) technology to create a tight seal between the pipetting mandrel and any of Hamilton’s CO-RE pipette tips. Additionally, capacitive Liquid Level Detection (cLLD) provides steadfast sensing of any liquid type, and Monitored Air Displacement (MAD) detects clots or empty wells with real-time aspiration performance tracking. With this unique blend of technologies, users can be assured of exact dispensing and aspirating time and time again, and across the wide dynamic range of 0.5–1000 µL, even when hit picking samples for pooling libraries. CO-RE technology also eliminates the risk of tip distortion or aerosol generation during tip pick-up and ejection, and enables optional CO-RE paddles to provide automatic plate and rack transport around the deck for true walkaway operation.

Microlab Prep can easily and quickly integrate into any laboratory, and easily fits on a lab bench or in many biological safety cabinets. With an intuitive touchscreen interface and simple-to-use programming wizards, users of any skill level can quickly create and select methods or perform routine maintenance tasks without delay. All pertinent information is displayed on-screen to keep users informed at every step. As with all trusted Hamilton products, our experts are available to help guide users into a solution that’s right for their unique needs.

Compact Microlab Prep is configurable with two independent pipetting channels, a high-speed multi-probe head, or a combination thereof for the utmost in flexibility and speed. A mounted camera identifies labware, and heating and shaking modules are available. List price starts at $15,000.
