Following three years of successful live forensics events in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, Clarion Events is now ready to launch Forensics Middle East & Africa as a fully virtual conference 12-14 October, 2020.

The event was previously due to take place in Cairo and will now be the first virtual event delivered by Clarion Defence & Security.

The event will offer a much-needed space where the community of forensic practitioners - many of whom are frontliners in the current pandemic - to learn, train, discuss and network without needing to leave their home or office. It will be a three day, free-to-attend event comprising of panel discussions, keynote presentations and numerous networking opportunities. This year has been one of the most challenging times seen in the forensics community and this will provide our network of forensic experts a place to share their lessons learned and procure new equipment solutions. Previous editions of the conference attracted over 1,000 specialised attendees from the sector who will be looking to continue their knowledge-sharing online this October.

Mariana De’ Carli, Head of Content & VIP Programme at Clarion Events Middle East share why the decision was taken to run the event virtually: “After years of increasingly integrating event technology into our conferences and with the current limited international travel, we are now prepared to launch our first online event. After conferring with our existing network of forensic experts, we’ve decided to go ahead with the virtual event in 2020. Forensic practitioners are keen to share their lessons learned and procure solutions to face their new challenges.”

The conference will be held under the support of the Arab Union of Forensic & Toxicology (AUFT), who will be holding their 11th annual meeting at the virtual event. Forensics Middle East & Africa will be extending the acceptance of abstract submissions over the coming weeks, with a particular focus on new case studies based on the disruptive changes to casework from the last months. The scientific programme will be overseen by Dr. Dina Shokry, the President of AUFT, with the support of a steering committee of experts from across the Middle East and Africa region.

“Our event will be the only forensic meeting this year for Middle Eastern & African experts to convene; it will shine light on a community that has worked tirelessly in the last few months” De’ Carli stated.
