Maximum flexibility for microbial and cell culture applications | Intuitive operation; user-friendly design
Sartorius Stedim Biotech (SSB), a leading international pharma and biotech provider, is bringing a completely revamped generation of its successful bioreactor series out on the market: BIOSTAT® B. This autoclavable fermentor / bioreactor has been specially designed to cover the wide variety of requirements in biotechnological and biopharmaceutical research and development. BIOSTAT® B can be supplied as a flexible basic unit for preclinical research on up to a ready-configured, fully qualified bioreactor system that meets the requirements of a validated GMP environment.
Flexible system for cell cultivation and microbial fermentation
BIOSTAT® B is a modular-designed system. Its control unit is available as a single or twin version and can thus control up to two culture vessels simultaneously and independently. For the vessels, users can opt for two-liter, single-use polycarbonate bioreactors or reusable stirred glass bioreactors with volumes of one, two, five or ten liters, depending on their needs. The BIOSTAT® B system is suitable for both microbial fermentation and cell cultivation applications.
Intuitive operation; user-friendly design
New functions and an especially user-friendly design make working with the bioreactor even easier. The color 12-inch touch-screen display guides users easily and intuitively through the menu. Among the new functions, a gravimetric controller that uses a high-capacity balance as well as an rpm-controlled pump help ensure that substrates are accurately dispensed. Laboratory staff can adjust the feed rate directly on the control unit display, which eliminates the need for external software. Quick-connect couplings make it fast and simple to connect the culture vessels to the control unit. A potential-free alarm contact shields the BIOSTAT® B from electromagnetic currents, ensuring interference-free measurements during cultivation processes.
