Retsch is a leading global solution provider for neutral-to-analysis sample preparation and characterisation of solids providing the essential tools for preparing samples prior to analysis.

retsch imageOn the basis of more than 90 years of experience Retsch develop innovative size reduction and sieving equipment which is characterised by reliability, precision and durability.

For turning a laboratory sample into a representative part sample with homogeneous analytical fineness Retsch offers a comprehensive range of the most modern mills and crushers for coarse, fine and ultra-fine size reduction of almost any material. These instruments come with a wide choice of grinding tools and accessories to ensure contamination-free preparation and the easy adaption to individual requirements.

With 11 different models the Retsch range of Ball Mills is the most extensive in the world offering a high degree of flexibility when it comes to milling samples down to the sub-micron range. The comprehensive range comprises a High Energy Ball Mill, Planetary Ball Mills and Mixer Mills. Whereas the Mixer Mills are used for dry, wet and cryogenic grinding and homogenising small sample volumes, the Planetary Ball Mills exceed all requirements for fast and reproducible milling down to the sub-micron range as well as mechanical alloying. Retsch’s new High Energy Ball Mill Emax provides grind sizes in the nanometer range in a very short time due to the grinding jars being cooled during operation by an integrated water cooling system. Whatever your requirements possibly Retsch has the perfect Ball Mill for your application.

Retsch Sieve Shakers and test sieves are the key to easy, rapid, reproducible and above all accurate analysis. The product line is completed by the optical particle analysis systems of Retsch Technology which operate with digital image processing. Retsch Technology’s particle analysers CAMSIZER and CAMSIZER XT are based on Dynamic Image Analysis (D.I.A.) technology which evaluates images of the particles The D.I.A. process determines parameters such as length, width or sphericity of particles by a dual camera system providing optimised analysis conditions for small and large particles without compromising resolution or detection probability. The new CAMSIZER P4 – the fourth generation – now gives even better performance with faster cameras with higher resolution, a brighter light source and improved data processing capabilities.

Retsch and Retsch Technology UK are based in the Hope Valley and have an excellent laboratory facility, equipped with many of the Retsch and Retsch Technology instruments. Samples can be sent in by post for preparation or visitors are welcome to visit the laboratory and see and discuss their sample being tested.
