Come to Synbiosis Stand 65 at ECCMID to see how ChromaZona can help

ChromaZonaSynbiosis, a long-established, expert manufacturer of automated microbiological systems, will be showing ChromaZona, an IVD certified system that quickly and easily automates antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) and microbial identification on Stand 65 at the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) 2017 on 22-25th April in Vienna.

The ChromaZona system, which has been reviewed by many prestigious clinical microbiology institutes worldwide, including the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST), will be live on stand. The system has been proven to accurately analyse zones around antibiotic discs and automatically identify microbes cultured on chromogenic agar from many major media manufacturers.

On stand, Synbiosis experts will demonstrate how ChromaZona, using its sensitive CCD camera can precisely image zones around antibiotic discs and Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) strips. They will detail how ChromaZona’s eAST software can in seconds analyse zones and compare measurements to data from all organisms with MIC values in the system’s integrated EUCAST database, then list all antibiotics bacteria are sensitive to, and provide guidance for treatment options.

Synbiosis staff will also explain how ChromaZona’s unique three colour lighting and powerful Chromogenic ID software can at the touch of a button, use colour and morphology to identify microorganisms plated on a range of chromogenic media including: Brilliance™; CHROMagar™; Colorex™ and HardyCHROM™.

The ChromaZona software generates objective, consistent zone measurement

and plate image results and can be easily connected to a LIMS system or reports can be transferred into Excel. This provides fully traceable information which can be analysed any time and used to identify and monitor antimicrobial resistance trends.

“Performing AST measurement and microbial identification manually is time consuming and produces variable results,” states Kate George, Senior Divisional Manager at Synbiosis. “We are delighted to be showing ChromaZona’s amazing features live on Stand 65 at ECCMID 2017 and are looking forward to explaining why ChromaZona is the perfect solution for microbiologists.”
